BELGRADE — Laurie Ann Frikken, 52, of Belgrade died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital after a nine-month battle with cancer.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Arrangements are by Johnson and Harvey Anderson Funeral Home.

Memorials are preferred to the LUNGevity Foundation.

She was born June 13, 1955, in Benson to Alvin and Adeline (Iverson) Suter. She attended District 28 country school in Cashel Township, Swift County, until the eighth grade. She graduated from Benson High School in 1973.

She married William Frikken on Oct. 2, 1976. During their first years of marriage Laurie worked for the Loral Corporation in Benson. After having children she began providing day care for area families. During the last 18 years she was employed at Bayer Built Wood Works in Belgrade.

She was president of the Christian Mothers at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa.

She is survived by her husband; children: Jill (and Paul) of Sartell, Brent (and Katie) of Sartell, and Tara of Belgrade; two grandchildren; parents; sister: Linda (and Steve) Miller of Benson; brother: Danny (and Gail) Suter of Chanhassen.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
