Rick Knutson
October 2nd, 1955 – February 2, 2023

Rick Knutson was born on October 2nd, 1955 to Monica and Lenard Knutson in Benson, Minnesota. After Rick graduated from Benson High School in 1973 he went on to study Computer Science Engineering at Colorado Tech.

Rick spent 35 years as a Project Manager/Engineer for Raytheon in defensive operations. He managed installations in Greenland, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Abu Dhabi, Texas and Alaska to make America great again. Not only did Rick help lead people in operational issues but he was a friend to all and always provided politically incorrect humor to anyone who would listen.

In 1984, Rick Knutson met Christine Dipietro, married in 1987 and went on to have two children, Allison and Ryan. Rick Knutson was widowed in 2008.

In 2010 Rick met Dorothy Sullivan in Boston, Massachusetts. They married in 2014 and he retired from Raytheon in 2016. Rick enjoyed 7 years of retirement traveling, golfing, dining and attending musical/comedy shows.

Rick was predeceased by his Father and Mother Monica and Lenard Knutson and his brother Jim Knutson.

He is survived by his loving wife Dottie Knutson, Daughter Allison (Jeremy) McElroy, Son Ryan (Jessica) Knutson, sister Sue Knutson; brothers, Tom (Lillian) Knutson and Earl (Julie) Knutson and Grandson Grayson McElroy.

A celebration of life will be held at Chesapeake Convention Center, 700 Conference Center Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320 on February 25th, 2023 at 2:00pm. The family is encouraging bright colored floral/Hawaiian shirts to be worn in honor of Rick’s memory.
