Doreen Ann Wennerberg
September 17, 1955 ~ June 13, 2021 (age 65)
Doreen Wennerberg, 65, of Kerkhoven, died Sunday, June 13th at St. Cloud Hospital. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 17th at Kerkhoven Evangelical Free Church in Kerkhoven with a visitation starting one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Murdock. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Kerkhoven. www.hafh.org
Doreen Wennerberg was born September 17, 1955, in Starbuck, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Wilford and Irene (Kelly) Anderson. Doreen grew up in the Benson area and attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in her younger years. She graduated from Benson Senior High School in May of 1973. She attended Willmar Area Vocational Technical School with a degree in secretarial skills.
On August 29, 1981, she was united in marriage to John P. Wennerberg at First Covenant Church in Willmar, MN. Following their marriage, they lived in Willmar, Pennock and Kerkhoven. Doreen and John were blessed with three handsome sons, Paul, Kelly and Travis. Besides raising her children, she worked as a direct support professional for Supportive Lifestyles. In later years she volunteered at KMS Head Start Program as a Volunteer Grandparent.
Doreen enjoyed many relaxing activities such as crocheting, reading books and watching TV. She stayed strong in her faith in Jesus by attending Bible Study and reading her Bible. Doreen attended services regularly at Evangelical Free Church in Kerkhoven. She also enjoyed reading books to the children at the head start program and singing songs with them. What she truly enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her children: Paul (Sarah) Wennerberg of Kandiyohi, MN, Kelly Wennerberg of Benson, MN, Travis Wennerberg (special friend Ashley Erickson) of Kerkhoven, MN and grandchildren, Ean and Iden Wennerberg. Also surviving is her sister, Audrey (Wayne) Carlson of Stanchfield, MN as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, John, her parents, Wilford and Irene K Anderson and her brother Roger Anderson as well as her Savior, Christ Jesus.
